Guest Night 2025 was everything that we wanted it to be. The best part about it is having such a wide variety of performers on stage with us, really showing the range of talent we have at RHS; from a wonderful monologue from Mr Wolff to a beautiful string band to non stop rock and roll with The Nameless. It is a real pleasure to be able to play alongside this group of musicians, when we otherwise wouldn’t get the chance; the opportunities presented by Guest Night are rare and great fun, and we hope the other performers felt the same way.

An event like guest night presents issues throughout the run up, but we persevered through sheer excitement for the event. We’d like to thank the dedication of all the people involved that made it possible.

Through the kind comments we received in the days after Guest Night, we can confirm the evening was a success:

Starting in the 90s with Nirvana and Hole, the night started with a bang, with some typical Templars grunge. Ska isn’t a genre we ever though we would explore, but with the help of the Sam Mo, Billy Parsons, Peter Sharman and Aleks Snell, we managed to achieve an energetic and enjoyable version of The Specials’ Ghost Town.

Rounding out the first half with a monologue from Mr Wolff preceding The White Stripes’ Little Acorns

A Guest Night classic Misirlou started the second half, followed by a generational performance of Call Me by Molly Guildeau.

The rock kept coming with Nine Inch Nails, Helter Skelter and joined for a punk classic, Welcome to Paradise, by Dan Parsons and Monty Douglas.

Finishing the night with alt rock classics by Fontaines DC and Weezer, we couldn’t be more proud of what we achieved.
We’d like to thank everyone that supported through the process, all the musicians who agreed to put up with the inevitable chaos of working with us, and of course everyone who attended the event.

We look forward to gracing the stage again.
