Curriculum
At Richard Hale School, our curriculum aims to:
- provide a broad, ambitious and creative curriculum, enriched by a wide range of related experiences, to encourage the development of the unique talents of each individual student to the highest level.
- develop students’ self-esteem and confidence, leadership, teamwork and creative skills, by providing opportunities for them to represent their House and School and contribute to the wider community in a wide range of extra-curricular activities.
Ofsted recognised our curriculum as being, “ambitious,” and that, “pupils reap the rewards of leaders’ commitment to enhance the curriculum.” We have created our curriculum around meeting the needs of the students in the school, whilst providing the opportunity for students to study a broad range of subjects. In lessons teachers provide quality learning experiences for the students using, “extensive subject knowledge,” to engage students and provide them with the knowledge and skills they require, enabling them to progress into further education and employment.
The curriculum also includes the wide ranging extra-curricular and super-curricular programme to extend the curriculum beyond the classroom. These extensive opportunities are a key feature of the school and includes, visits, clubs, opportunities to learn basic vehicle maintenance for example.
