Year 10 Geography Trip
Last month, the Geography trip saw 109 Year 10’s descend upon Overstrand as part of their GCSE course. They need to undertake both a human and physical investigation enquiry for their paper 3 exam and the residential trip allows them access to study some excellent locations in Norfolk. Despite some mixed forecasts the weather was generally in our favour and the boys we able to conduct good quality field work at both coastal locations of managed and unmanaged beaches, as well as assessing the impacts tourism has had on the seaside town of Cromer. The boys certainly cheered up the day of a lonely ice creamer vendor at the very quiet Overstrand beach on Monday, with I would guess 100 ice creams sold! Fieldwork excursions were followed up with both classroom and adventure activity sessions at the centre. Here the boys impressed us with offering good answers in classrooms late into the evening as well as throwing themselves 100% into the activity sessions too, be it climbing, archery Jacob’s ladder to name a few. However, I suspect as I write this early Thursday morning after returning, there might be some more tired faces around school after a busy few days; certainly the staff!
